Sounds like a hard drive from 1995Strengths: None to be seen but I didn't put it through the test Weakness: This thing is the loudest drive I've heard since about 1995, seems kind of cheaply built. I have a 10,000 rpm WD drive which makes about half the noise these things make. I didn't put it through the test of time but the sound of it was enough to drive me to returning it within a day of purchase, something may have been wrong though, I wouldn't be surprised. I know it's an enterprise drive but must enterprise drives be excessively loud? I think not considering I've used other's which are nowhere near as loud and I'm sure every bit as dependable and long lasting.

Excellent DriveStrengths: Fast, Reliable, PRT, Designed to use in RAID Weakness: None so far I have 18 of these drives in 3 RAID 5 arrays. Blazing fast - saturates 3Gb channel. Using hardware RAID. Some complain about noise, I can't really hear them over my server fans - 450CFM.

fast fast fast!
Strengths: 5yr warranty, fast, quiet, seagate disk partioning/management software rocks!
Weakness: none
i purchased this drive to consolidate the data from a 250gb & a 300gb drive. i use a raptor as my boot drive, but i must say that things seem faster when copying to this seagate drive. i decided to go with this version (enterprise edition) rather than the normal as it is supposed to run cooler. this is the 3rd hard drive in my system, and by far the quietest. as the price drops on the 750gb...
