Corsair HX CMPSU-620HX ATX12V v2.2 and EPS12V 2.91 AC Power Supply

Great power supply! Just one flaw...

Strengths: The claimed wattage is what it can sustain at 50c, not its peak at 25c like most advertise. The 12v rails are very beefy. This puts it in the same legue as PSs that advertise much higher wattages.

Weakness: When I first got mine, it made a loud clicking noise. Fan was hitting up against some metal on the inside of the unit. After being on for 10 min, noise would stop. This is apparantly a common flaw.

Used it for about a week before RMAing it, and even with the clicking, it was quieter than my old Thermaltake. Corair customer service is great, I got an RMA right away when I filled out a tech support form on their website.

Excellent 620W Power Supply!

Strengths: Corsair 5 Year Warranty! Super Quiet, Modular Design, Plenty Of Power - Industrial duty capacitors, Plenty of cabling choices included. Also Includes a bag to store your extra cables.

Weakness: A Little Expensive! Minor Cons Cables are fairly stiff & plain black in color. The EPS12V cable is not modular neither are the ATX cables. SATA power connectors are kinda of long between connections.

I am amazed with this power supply it has won me over when it comes to power supplies Solid Design, Very Powerful, running 2 7950 in SLI no problem with a overclocked FX-55. Solid 12V rails! User friendly modular cabling. Corsair 5 Year Warranty! Only other thing I could ask for in a 620W power supply is the price to be a little less and to have had the cables sleeved like the ATX and EPS12V...

Strengths: Robust design, quiet operation, modular cables, 5 year guarantee, smooth waveform output at load, etc.

Weakness: No problems whatsoever.

Great and reliable power supply for most mid range, and even high range systems. One notable reviewer drew 720 Watts on this unit with stable output, at 50'C. his is the best Power Supply I've owned. Quiet, solid build, and modular! the price for this unit is quite high, just like other quality PS's. Even though it has a few flaws (including price), I would still highly recommend the PS because it has great performance.

Corsair 620w PSU - good choice

Strengths: So far, solid performance, more than enough power, modular cables, and enough cables for most needs, along with aesthetic appearance.

Weakness: Cables seem less flexible than other PSUs, which makes it 'interesting' working with closely situated hard drives.

I installed this PSU in a Thermaltake Eureka full tower case and the SATA, mainboard, PCI-E... in general, all the cables were of sufficient length with enough leeway to not add tension to the cables.
