Great for AstronomersStrengths: Red light and be set very low to preserve night vision. Relatively small footprint. USB allows easy use with laptops Weakness: A side USB connection for a mouse would be nice. Key lighting is a little uneven. I purchased to use with my laptop for controlling a telescope and camera for taking astronomical images. I have a red screen cover so my night vision is not effected when viewing the display but needed to use a red headlamp to see the keyboard. This was a pain. I was waiting for a reasonably priced red illuminated keyboard for years. Now with the Eclipse II (even has an astronomical name!) I can...

Saitek Eclipse II KeyboardStrengths: Hefty stay-put keyboard. Weakness: Not all keys are well lit. I like the quiet keys. They have a good touch to them as well. It's a good looking keyboard too. I like the keyboard, but maybe there could be more backlights to cover all the keys better. For gaming, it still beats other non-lit keyboards. I do recommend this keyboard to others.

Saitek Eclipse 2 KeyboardStrengths: Great looks, nice feeling keys, quiet, sturdy, choice of illumination colors, USB connectivity, no software driveras needed, reliabilty of hardwired keyboard, no batteries needed, and night vision. Weakness: Lack of PS2 connectivity may pose problem of keyboard not being found on start up. Black and silver finish shows every speck of dust. USB cable too stiff...it will not lay flat and straight. Simply put, I just love this keyboard!!! An extra port on the side of the keyboard would have been nice for the mouse. As it gradually gets darker, the better the backlit keyboard looks. My desktop is definitely looking high-tech! I would recommend this keyboard to anyone, short of the blind. Definitely one of the best keyboards out there...five stars! *****

One of the best keyboards out thereStrengths: Very nice design, high quality, quiet keys, extra media buttons. Weakness: Backlighting not as bright as it should be, color defaults to blue each time keyboard turns off I love this keyboard. I was going to get the first Eclipse version because I like the all-black look, but I decided on this one. I'm pretty satisfied for the most part. This keyboard has the standard 104 key layout, which is superb, and a few additional media control buttons: Play/Pause, Back, Forward, Stop, and volume controls. They don't work with all programs (can't get them to work with...

Nice quality keyboardStrengths: Very quiet, backlit keys with your choice of color. Weakness: Resets to the color of blue when you reboot. This is a nice quality keyboard. The keys are the quietest of any keyboard I have used. Not totally silent, but quiet. Which actually was my main reason for buying a new keyboard. The backlit keys are nice to have in a dark room, or at night with the lights off. They could stand to be a little brighter, but anything is better than nothing in the dark. Purple appears to be the brightest color of...

Love it !Strengths: Illumination Weakness: None This keyboard rocks! Not only does it have a better feel than any keyboard I've owned before, but the large rubber feet hold it firmly in place even during intense gaming sessions. All this, and it has three choices of Illumination color!!!

Saitek Eclipse IIStrengths: Large and comfortable keys. Backlighting. Weakness: Wrist rest not gel I bought mine on a special pricing from newegg.com. This is a very straight forward keyboard. I has backlighting for the dark/gaming. I only wish it was wireless and that the wrist rest was gel of some sort. I haven't really used this very long so I can't really say how it will last, but so far so good.

Well built keyboardStrengths: Good styling----heavy rubber base feet to keep the keyboard from sliding around----the 3 color choices which light up the keys for night usage Weakness: This is minor, but I am used to an oversized "enter" key on the key board because I use my right pinky finger to hit enter. With this keyboard I sometimes slip and hit the back slash key by mistake. The styling is very cool and the 3 color light choices allow you to type at night without having to have an extra light on to see what you are doing. The keys are quiet and feel just right when typing. The 2 risers on the back of the keyboard when extended are the perfect angle for me, so I do not have to use the included hand rest that attaches to the front of the unit. The unit connects with a...

Fun Keyboard!Strengths: Good keyfeel; nice wrist-rest extension; lights up in three colors Weakness: Space bar sometimes doesn't depress if you don't hit it dead center I bought this keyboard for a custom PC I was building after reading several positive reviews on the web. My current PC uses an old Keytronic keyboard which I really love, so I wasn't sure if the Eclipse II was going to be a worthy successor. My fears were allayed within the first couple of days, however, as this keyboard started to grow on me. The backlit keys are admittedly a bit gimmicky, but I...

Colorful Keyboard
Strengths: Three color choices for illumination of keys. Glow goes through the keys and not just around them. Compact design.
Weakness: None
The keys on the Eclipse II have a great feel to them. The glow is nice for gaming in the dark since you can still look down at the keyboard and easily see the key you want. You have the option of three colors: blue, red, and purple. There is a knob on the keyboard to adjust the brightness of the glow or you can turn it off completely. Great keyboard, recommended.
