Worked for three weeksStrengths: Quiet Weakness: Died after 3 weeks. It was cheap, but why to pay anything for this? Support is awfull, it didn't responce for my e-mail requesting RMA. Web site has no Support or Warranty links.

Not so goodStrengths: None Weakness: Poorly built, voltage is up and down Power (voltage) is all over the place, causing my PC to shut down automatically. Also put one in my sons Computer the same day and power to RAM fluxuates so much it ruined 2 gigs of Crucial DDR.

So so productStrengths: Cheap Weakness: low quality, after I installed it two week, the PSU is dead! I purchased this unit for my old computer. It works. But after a while, the fan in the unit has loud noise. Usually I do not shut down the system during the night, but with this unit I have to turn off the computer each night before I went to bed.

Inexpensive Power SupplyStrengths: Inexpensive Weakness: Low Quality I have bought this power supply free after rebates and it works. I have been experiencing some random failures in my new computer, which seems to be related to the power supply. I will probably replace this unit for something better. I guess you have what you pay for...

COOLMAX V500 500W Power SupplyStrengths: Cheap, ATX form factor, 120mm fan, SATA support, 20/24 pin connector, reasonably quiet, works Weakness: Extraordinarily tedious rebate I purchased this PS recently from a popular website for FAR with the intent of using it in a low-cost system build. Aside from the price, I was attracted to the ATX FF and felt that the variety of connectors offered me enough flexibility to use it with a number of different components and have some upgrade capability for future enhancements. It fits in my ultra case (also FAR) and is compatible...

$0 after rebateStrengths: free after rebate, has 120mm fan inside Weakness: unreliable, underperforming, no pfc Well, I got this COOLMAX V500 500W Power Supply on sale and only because it was free after mail in rebate of $28. This power supply is VERY light - and that does say a lot about its quality. It has no pfc, many people reported it blowing up or simply stopping working after couple of months. The fan is loud contrary to what the description says. Its best characteristic is that it does have a 120mm...

Good product, I don't see why there are so many...Strengths: Cost, Brand Weakness: Its a low cost power supply You do get what you pay for, if you need a high end power supply don't get this one. If you want a cheap reasonable power supply its a great buy.

choose anotherStrengths: Cool Max makes decent power supplies in the $40 ~ $50 range. But not this one. Weakness: failed right after I upgraded my computer with 7900GTS. Worked alright about 2 days or so until my new video card arrived. Once i replaced my good old 7600GS to 7900GTS the system ran fine for about couple of hours....and it shut down!!! Buyers beware. This is recommended only if you are using for old systems. If you are building new computer then choose another power supply.

not recommendedStrengths: nice package Weakness: short lifespan & poor customer service. Maybe i am just one of the unlucky ones to receive a DOA unit but CoolMax won't reply my emails or phone calls. 0 for product quality and 0 for customer service. Judging from other customer's rebate experience, there's something shady going on with this company. I hope I can still return this to Mwave... Advertisement

Strengths: what good is a power supply if it can't last a week?
Weakness: short lifespan
Everything works fine and I am using 512MB memory with 250GB drive and an AMD Sempron for Windows. Yes, I know my system is very outdated but doesn't that make it easier on the power requirements? yet somehow this unit failed me shortly after first usage. Buyers beware. Stay away.
