Great with Vista Business!

Strengths: Install was very easy and troublefree. Daily use of mouse and keyboard are very pleasing. Lots of options with IntelliPoint.

Weakness: Acutal mouse tracking isn't as fast as it should be. Takes awhile to get used to the keyboard layout.

I've been using the kit for a few days now and have gotten to appreciate the built in Vista features on the keyboard. I do like the Windows button located at the center as it gives me quick access to the start menu. The actual feel of the keys are very soft compared to a standard packed in keyboard from OEMs. However, sometimes I do need to look twice to see if my keystroke registered. I also...

Good desktop combo for your media PC on TV

Strengths: Sleek keyboard to use on couches

Weakness: Mouse a bit bulky to match sleek keyboard styling.

Got this to use with my laptop hooked up to my HDTV. Good comfortable typing on laps from couches. The touchpad on keyboard is a bit clumsy to use and not quite sensitive enough. And the mouse click button on keyboard will require you to use both hands in navigating. I think a nav stick in middle of keyboard with button below keys like in laptop would be a good addition. Mouse a tad bulky to use...

Microsoft Wireless Keyboard and Mouse Bluetooth

Strengths: Works Well & wakes up when computer sleeps

Weakness: no keypad

This is a superb keyboard and the first wireless that will wake up immediately when the computer sleeps in Vista. High Quality and does not have to be continually reset as did my Bluetooth Logitec I gave up on.

Great keyboard for the price!

Strengths: Affordable Not too loud Durable

Weakness: Buttons are a bit sticky Takes a while to get used to the "natural" tilt

This keyboard keeps my hands from getting as stiff from typing compared to how it was before. I used to have stiffness after programming for a few hours and this helped relieve the stress. It comes with this nice wrist rest and keeps your typing form really good. Overall, the only bad thing about this setup is how slowly the keys come up (but all modern keyboads do this). The mouse is a basic...

Wireless Entertainment 7000 Keyboard/Mouse

Strengths: HTPC capabilities; auto power on/off; media-center buttons

Weakness: No number pad; not backlit; expensive

We have a HTPC in our master bedroom, so wanted a better keyboard than the media-center one from Microsoft. That one has a very boxy layout, used IR and the joystick/mouse control is awful, with no adjustments possible. Thus far, I am very happy this the Entertainment Desktop 7000. It has a curved layout, it has plenty of media-center buttons and the on-board mouse is actually usable (though...

7000 keyboard & mouse

Strengths: Everything

Weakness: None

I love this thing!!!! Very easy to install & use. I've had mine for about 30 day's & only charged the mouse 2 time's. Keyboard batt's still going fine. Forget about plain old wireless, bluetooth is the way to go. I have vista & 42" monitor and now I can sit across the room. I think you will love it too.

Great for HTPC (especially if its Vista)

Strengths: Easy install, very good reception - works about 20 feet away from inside our kitchen, mouse keys + pad on the keyboard, lots of keys for Vista navigability, good mouse, small form factor

Weakness: Mousepad on keyboard needs to be a bit bigger and more sensitive, no numpad, no Forward button for web navigation, may not be suitable for intense gaming

I use this in my living room but the incredible thing is it can control my PC from my other room where I have the monitor (dual monitor setup)- Bluetooth is amazing. I hardly use the mouse in the living room because the keyboard has mousepad inbuilt. Its a bit pricey but worthy investment IMO.

Excellent for lap use

Strengths: Thin, light, rechargeable batteries work in keyboard

Weakness: F-keys take a little getting used to

This is an excellent bluetooth keyboard/mouse set for using with a laptop connected to a home theater system. Setup was straightforward, range is good, sync is almost instantaneous. While keyboard ships with alkaline batteries, I have rechargeables in it and it works fine (the mouse comes with rechargeables and charging base). The only issue I have with it is that it's easy to brush the...

Nice!

Strengths: Simple set-up following a quick update to Vista; downloaded latest software not using what was included on the install CD. Mouse tracking is accurate. Build quality is nice.

Weakness: Mouse has rechargable battery was maybe hoping for the same with the keyboard.

Very nice package overall, works smoothly in both Bluetooth and proprietary modes (like accessing the BIOS at start-up). Range is adequate for my monitor from across the room. Plenty of quick access buttons (some are touch sensitive) on the keyboard.

Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000

Strengths: Easy to install, comfortable form factor, quick access to commonly used programs

Weakness: Clicking the mouse pad on the keyboard took a little getting used to. It requires only a gentle touch, not a firm press. Back button for web browser, but no forward button.

I connected my PC to my HDTV, so now my home theater is also my home office. The MS Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000 lets me sit back on my couch while reading emails, surfing the web, and working. It also controls Window Media Center, so I can watch TV and DVDs, or listen to music.

Microsoft Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000

THE GOOD: Media and cursor keyboard buttons make it easy to control your desktop from across the room. THE BAD: Curved design adds little comfort and makes typing imprecise; keyboard doesnt grip your desk as well as it should. THE BOTTOM LINE: Microsoft fits a number of useful features on to the keyboard in its new Wireless Entertainment Desktop 7000 set, but were not sold. Well give it credit...
