Saves Right Thumb from Blisters

Strengths: Nikon build quality. Saves right thumb from bruises and blisters during extensive, run-n-gun portrait shooting.

Weakness: D80's stock proportions thrown off by the grip

By default, this grip comes with Nikon's excellent build quality! Attaching it will save your right thumb from nasty bruises and blisters. Just recently, I shot a prep/wedding/reception for 9 hours, ~1200 shots without the vertical grip and had a huge bruise and the makings of a bad blister. Great Nikon made for D80

Strengths: Comfortable when using with vertical photophaphy; Use with 6 AA battery or (1 or 2) EN-EL3e; fully control of shutter and two dials

Weakness: Cannot be used with EN-EL3a (for D70); Battery life with 6 AA is significantly shorter than with EN-EL3e; The vertical grip is somewhat too big.

I like this very much. It allows me to have longer battery life with D80 and to use with 6 AA batteries in case of imergency. Even a big guy like me, I feel that the grip is too big. Bad part is that I cannot use my old EN-EL3a with it.

MB-D80 Multi-Power Battery Pack for Nikon D80...

Strengths: easy to install batteries & secure onto camera. easy to use, the button to take photos in vertical position is an added plus. i like that it can be used with AA batteries if needed.

Weakness: makes the camera a bit heavier and bulky.

the battery pack is a good added accessory for the camera. while it does make it heavier, it helps to stabilize it. the added battery time is a plus. being able to use AA batteries is an advantage. it is not recommended for continuous use, but good to have as an option.
