DP35DP motherboard

Strengths: Great motherboard for the price

Weakness: no sli or floppy connector

Great all around motherboard. Has no sli support or floppy. But I am not a big gamer and can't tell you the last time I used a floppy drive. Has infared ports so you could use a remote control to control dvd playback. Can boot from a usb device so you could install raid drivers that way if needed

Rock-solid, high-performance main board from Intel

Strengths: Pop it in, connect stuff to it (potentially a LOT of stuff), forget about the techie-stuff and enjoy it.

Weakness: No floppy controller, no BIOS tweaking (for overclocking)

This is a great board if you want a high-performance PC, but are not into overclocking. As the previous reviewer mentioned, a media center PC (aka Home Theater PC or HTPC) is a perfect application for this board. It sports support for processors with 800Mhz, 1033Mhz or 1333Mhz front-side buses (for example, Pentium Dual-Core, Core 2 Duo Exx00 series, or Core 2 Duo Exx50 series, respectively). Up...

Awesome board for a Media PC

Strengths: Onboard consumer IR, RAID, supports latest processors

Weakness: no floppy connector, no overclocking support.

This is an awesome motherboard for HTPC use. I just built my third HTPC using this board. The onboard features are very nice. It has consumer infrared ports, which is a first on any motherboard. This means I dont have to use an external USB device for Infrared control. I used a small device from another meritline.com to connect those ports, all info is included in the motherboard. Works...

Soo disappointing

Strengths: Intel stable

Weakness: works OK, except wouldn't enter ACPI standby completely

Is an upgrade for DP965LT so that I can run E8400 cpu. Got it going fine, this board has no PS/2 for mice or Keyboard, That wasn't a problem for me. Doen't have a parrallel port for my printer, got a SIIG PCI-to-parrallel card. Gave it a low rating cause I'm RMAing for a replacement DP35DPM. When my board enters ACPI standby, green power LED & LAN activity LEDS go out, but fans remain on & CD...

1 - DANGER! THIS IS A FRUSTRATING TIME SINK!

Strengths: It came in a really swell box.

Weakness: BE CAREFUL WHAT MEMORY YOU BUY FOR THE BOARD AND IF YOU WANT TO INSTALL RAID, YOU'LL NEED A MONTH TO GET IT TO WORK.

You must listen to the other nightmares posted about this mobo! Intel ships the RAID software on a floppy, but there's no floppy controller on the board. Intel support says use a USB floppy drive.... but it has to be one of a few specific models. I tried to find a place to buy any of the recommended USB drives -- not available and Intel Support can't tell you where to find one. Intel Support...

Not for the Amateur

Strengths: intel reliability, tons of USB ports, lots of fan connectors.

Weakness: No parallel port, no floppy port, no PS/2 keyboard and mouse ports, lone serial connector is very far away from the slots

To put it bluntly, this motherboard is a basket case until you update the bios to the latest version. After that everything will work just fine. The fun part though is getting the bios updated since you have no floppy port! My recommendation is if you want legacy compatibility, search elsewhere. Any old style ports on this board are for temporary use at best. I have a Q6600 with 8 gigs, SATA only...

DP35DP

Strengths: Board is a media series board with many features

Weakness: No Floppy, no P/S2 connectors

It is a solid board with 6 usb ports in the back with connectors for up to 12 total. Has 7.1 sound. It is a good board for the price. You will need a PCI-e video card for this as it does not have integrated video. Supports the latest chips with 1333 FSB. As stated before, there is no floppy or P/S2 connectors. Another disappointing feature is the esata connector without a powered extention.
