P5K Deluxe WiFi

Strengths: Overclockability,

Weakness: Price, 6 only SATA ports, eSATA compatibiliy, BIOS issues

I have 6 SATA drives, and SATA DVD-RW, but motherboard has only 6 SATA ports, so I decided to get a Vantec eSATA external enclosure to utilize one of two eSATA ports. Apparently there is compatibility issue with Vista/ Vantec/ eSATA combination. So I decided to try newest beta BIOS and used ASUS Update utility ( I know I should had used EZ flash instead, but I am lazy, and it is utility provide...

P5K Deluxe Wifi

Strengths: tons of features. 3 PCI slots, 2 PCI Express*16, 2 PCI Express*1, 6 SATA on board, 2 SATA external, ......and of cause, wireless. It has decent upgrade potential such as DDR2 1066, 1333 MHz CPUs.

Weakness: not compatible with next generation DDR3 memory. needs better Quality control. A quick start guide will be nice. SATA cables are believed to be low quality. No PS/2 mouse interface.

Overall it is a very nice board. Asus update BIOS like a crazy hamster (this proves they are really working hard to push this product into market). in a very short time this mobo will mature and become the mainstream.

P5K Deluxe Wifi

Strengths: Impressive built quality, cooling, complete board

Weakness: price

I received this mobo in the mail and immediately was impressed by its built quality. I am still in the building mode, so in terms of performance I would have to update later, but I am looking forward to OC'ing my 1066 E6600 to at least 1333.

Great MoBo -- P5K Deluxe WiFi-AP

Strengths: Dozens of features, many more than I'm currently using. Fast! NO problem using low CAS RAM (full 4GB w/ 32bit Vista). Bios are a breeze. Very Good Tech Support. It's an ASUS!

Weakness: None for this mobo that I've seen. Wish I had more time to "play" with it.

Like it even better than my last ASUS mobo, which is why I bot ASUS again. After using this board, I'll buy ASUS for life. Controls multiple fans, which makes for a quiet & cool rig. Included SATA cables come with a "right angle" connector to fit under long/large video cards. Running a Quad core 9450, CORSAIR XMS2 DHX 4GB (2 x 2GB) SDRAM DDR2 800 (PC2 6400), RAID 1 w/ Western Digital 320GB 7200...

A great overclock motherboard

Strengths: (1) powerful BIOS setting; (2) WI-FI; (3) 2 Gigabit Ethernet; (4) Fanless Cooling System; (4) SATA IDE Ports

Weakness: Poor software installation design

It is my first motherboard used to overclock, so I checked a lot of websites before jumped in. It is worth my effort. I simply followed instructions to change BIOS configuration. My Intel E6850 magically upgraded from 3.0Ghz to 3.6GHz. The included tool "PC Probe II" is very useful to monitor and alarm CPU temperature and fan speed before it gets burned. I also like the embedded WI-FI card. It...

One of the best motherboards in the market

Strengths: High quality components, good layout, wide variety of connections, excellent cooling, overclocking options for everyone.

Weakness: High price, BIOS updates are inconsistent.

Asus is known for its high quality and innovative products, and the P5K Deluxe/WIFI-AP motherboard is a great example. This board is great for both hardcore and casual users who want to get the most out of their PCs. The enthusiasts can tinker all they want in the elaborate BIOS setup while the average Joes can achieve similar overclocking result with the supplied Windows based software. For...

Great overclocker rock solid motherboard!

Strengths: Asus Wifi Cool Heatpipe Cooling (Actually hot) but it looks great Great layout Latest intel chipset that supports future processors

Weakness: Runs hot Didn't come with the optional fan the p5b's used to come with

I'm running this on water and so I needed the asus optional fan, but unfortunately it was not included. Luckily I was able to buy one for $5 off someone at a forum (overclock.net). It runs quite hot. If you touch it for too long you could seriously burn your hand. Other than that it is great! It has so many features in the bios and Asus is constantly improving it. As of now (prior to x38) it is...

ASUS delivers...

Strengths: Intel chipset Supports upcoming 45nm cpus Unnofficial DDR2 1066mhz support Accepts a huge array for 800mhz+ cpus Excellent cooling Good "AI" software Vista support 2 gigabit NIC's quality

Weakness: Pricey! Some bios issues (SATA, Quad support)

Love this board, sporting the brand new P35 chipset. This is the DDR2 flavor (DDR3 version offers little advantage). Look to Asus for quality and the very best overclocking and stability. Bios issues still being worked out but most problems are advanced. Good support at Asus website... support.asus.com/downl... Deluxe&type=map&mapindex=0

9-way Intel P35 motherboard round-up

Anyone looking at building a new desktop system should not look any further than Intel Core 2 processors, and when time comes to pick a platform you should have Intel's own P35 chipset in mind as it officially offers 1333MHz FSB support and will be compatible with upcoming 45nm processors. This translates in a fairly 'future-proof' platform, with some models currently available supporting DDR3...
