PNY GeForce 8500 GT Video Card

Strengths: Works well for an inexpensive video card, Clear video output, component/DVI/VGA out

Weakness: The fan is not super loud, but makes an annoying whining noise.

This card serves my needs well. A nice PCI Express card for the money and has a good set of outputs. My main complaint is the fan makes a whining noise that is just loud enough for me to hold my recommendation.

Inexpensive mid level video card

Strengths: Cheap, performance, silent fan, DVI, 512 Mb, DirectX 10 compatible

Weakness: Fan for cooling

Inexpensive and definitely worth its price video card good enough to play most of the modern games as well as great performance for Aero in Windows Vista (gives 5.1 points). I haven't noticed any issued with this video card. Although it has fan, it's silent so far. This video card is definitely great choice.

Great Value for money

Strengths: Decent performance for gaming, vista compatible, supports dual DVI monitors

Weakness: none so far :)

Just received this card yesterday. Installation on a Vista machine was straight forward. Was able to hookup it up to two DVI monitors. Vista Aero interface works just fine with this. Have not tried to connect it to a HDTV yet. That is the next thing on my todo list.

Great Performance & Value Direct X10, Vista...

Strengths: Who says you can't build a good gaming rig for cheap, This card is featured in many online and magazine advertised Gaming rigs and it performs very well. With Direct x10, hdcp compliant

Weakness: you must download the latest drivers don't even bother with the install disk go to nvidia.com to get them

I love this card plays Crysis, Supreme Commander and many other top games without a hitch. I used this in my newest custom build low end gaming rig. Great performance and value at under $100, u can't go wrong.

PNY GeForce 8500 GT Video Card

Strengths: Easty to install. Works great with Windows XP or Vista.

Weakness: Doesn't have the best resolution.

This card is pretty good. It is Direc10 compatable and has DVI and VGA connections. For an entry level graphics card this is perfect. I wouldn't recommend this card for anyone into extreme gaming or fine graphics design. PNY makes good video cards and I've purchased several over the years.

8500 GT - Hey, not so fast.

Strengths: Direct X 10

Weakness: Frame Rates

OK, let's see. An 8500GT card that just came out should provide faster frame rates than say a 6800GS that came out two years ago, right? WRONG!!! I've come to realize, forgive my ignorance if you already knew this, that the SECOND DIGIT in an NVIDIA-based GPU is the real key to frame rates. Lesson learned. The 8800GTS would be next logical step up from the 6800GS.

This Video Card Covers My Needs

Strengths: Easy to install, very helpful website that has lots of info, updated Vista drivers readily available.

Weakness: Install guide that you get with video card is lacking info for novice.

I wanted to update my desktop by replacing the motherboard integrated Intel graphics with a dedicated graphics card. This would then free up the motherboard processor when processing videos, and thus make the whole system more efficient. I chose the PNY Geforce 8500GT mainly because it had good reviews on the internet, and also Best Buys had it discounted. One word of advice before installing it,...

GeForce 8500 GT Video Card (512mb, PCI)

Strengths: It greatly enhanced my existing OEM graphic card, the graphic is very realistic and the game operate smoothly Very affordable for a graphic card of this caliber

Weakness: None so far

This is an awesome graphic card. The gaming environment is very realistic. I would recommend this card to anyone who is looking for a good card without spending a lot of money for quality.

PNY GeForce 8500 GT Video Card (512MB, PCI Express...

Strengths: - Built for Microsoft® Windows Vista™ - 2560x1600 resolution display - NVIDIA® PureVideo™ HD technology

Weakness: -None (Other than SKU is now on card instaed of box - See Below)

I have long been a PNY-video card guy....and the new PNY 8500 GT reinforced WHY I only buy their video cards! This is my THIRD PNY card in eighteen months. Immediately my upgrade resulted in a higher resolution picture on my new Dell Widescreen monitor. I play Tiger Woods 2008 and now can see finite leaves on trees, the grass is textured finer, and it takes less time to update the picture (512MB...

Good Enough

Strengths: It has 512MB on it. Dual Monitor support. been wanting that for a while.

Weakness: It is a little underpowered at times on my system. Seems to lag a little

This is a great card but the price I paid was a little steep. I mean I love the 512MB and the fast speed but it seems that I could have gotten a better card for about the same price I paid for this. If you want an up2date card, then here you go. If you want faster, better, look else where.
