Solid choice for today and tomorrow

Strengths: DDR2 and DDR3 memory support - 45nm CPU support (as of BIOS F6) - Tons of SATA ports

Weakness: CPU is under-volted - No firewire or Crossfire - Only 1 set of DDR3 slots

I got this board as soon as it came out. Off the bat, my e6600 would only clock up to 3.33GHz on "stock voltage" after being at 3.51GHz on an ASUS P5B-E without any voltage adjustments. After paying attention to CPU-Z, I noticed that the CPU voltage was less than 1.35. In fact, until you manually set the voltage in the BIOS to 1.3875, you won't see CPU-Z report 1.35. :( - Aside from that, I...

Good motherboard

Strengths: future proof (45nm and ddr3), easy to install, easy overclocker, user friendly, durable...

Weakness: bad voltage drop and voltage droop.

This motherboard works great for me, but I am still an amateur, i would see how this board would be problematic to the picky user. The memory voltage isn't shown in the BIOS but you can only increase it by increments. I still think it is a decent board, it just seems gigabyte rushed in its release. I would recommend it if you want to be future safe, but if not then do some research and see if...

Good board for overclocking.

Strengths: Great board for overclocking

Weakness: Lacks dual PCI-E, needs more voltage settings, overclocked board isn't on par with other ones.

This board is a great overclocker, even for a quad core. It has a wide range of fsb and cpu voltage settings. Great performance, though overclocked performance isn't as good as other boards. I also wished for more voltage settings on the memory and motherboard itself.
