Maxtor 40GB EIDE 7200RPM UDMA 100 3.5LP

Strengths: very good, fast, reliable

Weakness: set up was not perfect

Very nice drive and I have had good luck with this brand in the past. the setup did not allow me to partition as I would have liked but all in all a great drive at a great price.

Maxtor 40GB EIDE 7200RPM UDMA 100 3.5LP

Strengths: Inexpensive, good performance.

Weakness: It's all good.

I've purchased many brands of hard drives and Maxtor is one brand that has been trouble-free. Maxtor drives are consistently inexpensive, and deliver good performance. This drive delivers capacity, performance and price. A great thing is that this drive is clearly marked with jumper settings, and can be clipped to make it compatible with older systems.
