P5KE/WIFIAP Motherboard

Strengths: Great flexibility to attach just about anything you want. Lots of slots, USB's, 1394, easy to overclock and more. Trouble free so far and very easy to install.

Weakness: None

While I have built many computers in the past this was my first experience with an Intel LGA775 board. The install was pretty routine but when I first tried to boot up all I got was the CPU fan and the case fan to pulse on for a few seconds. I was forced to RTFM and lo and behold buried in the manual was a one liner that tells you that the computer will not boot if you don't have a secondary...

Great for the price and a new builder!

Strengths: Easy to follow manual, quality build, intuitive bios, and quick setup

Weakness: I had an initial problem in which it required the CMOS to be reset, but ever since it has been stable. Back I/O plate was a little misshaped as well.

I bought this Mobo after extensive review of other choices for building a Q6600 build. This one popped up on my radar when I saw it on sale at an online retailer. It has 6 SATA ports, more than enough for what I wanted to do. There is one bad thing about the placement of the SATA ports in that larger video cards protrude and cover up some of the ports. The situation is workable with my 8800gt but...

P5KE/WIFIAP

Strengths: GREAT board great OC

Weakness: No mouse plug in

AI Suite is OK, better working your OC'ing through BIOS if you know how (or can read up on it) - the update program is good but the site never seems to have a valid file, you need to download the new bios version and look for it through this program

Asus P5KE/WIFIAP Motherboard

Strengths: Bought this particular model from Asus based on technical reviews and customer experiences and overall goal of maintaining a very reasonable budget for assembling my new PC.

Weakness: None so far -- I only needed to update the BIOS firmware after inital BIOS power up.

I've been a developer for many years and have ordered PCs from different vendors throughout. I decided to "build" my new PC based on many positive experiences (and warnings) from different technical websites and co-workers. I'm quite impress with the Asus P4KE-WiFi Edition in making my first assembly practically painless. The board is well laid-out, components are clearly identified and the...

Asus again.......

Strengths: Famous Asus quality, performance and value.

Weakness: Famous Asus design/layout flaws.

Once again, I turned to Asus for my motherboard needs, and as the last 3 times, good choice and money well spent. I read mixed reviews about this board, and I started to waver, but I'm glad I took the chance on this one. I have only good opinions of this board thus far. I have 2GB of Crucial PC2-8500, an Intel Quad-Core CPU, and an 8800 GTS video card installed on this board, and I could not be...

ASUS P5K-E Motherboard

Strengths: Has 6 SATA connections and copper heatsinks.

Weakness: Does not support 533FSB RAM, atleat when you have a processor with 1333FSB.

The fist time I powered on this motherboard it wouldn't POST and found out I had a bad processor. The second time I powered on the motherboard it wouldn't POST and found out that this motherboard would not take any RAM under 533FSB, atleast when a CPU of 1333FSB is installed. ASUS claims there should be no problem with RAM of 533FSB, but there is. Everything else about this motherboard works good...

Great board for the price!

Strengths: Good layout, good BIOS, easy to tweak utilities, well made with decent features.

Weakness: None, so far.

I put together a Intel CORE 2 DUO E6850 system with this board running a EVGA 8800 GTS graphics card. Zero problems, extremely stable, averages 90 FPS on FEAR with settings turned all the way up. I am very happy with this motherboard, one of the easiest builds I have done. I researched many motherboards for a P35 system and just couldn't find a compelling reason to buy a more expensive board as...

Asus P5KE/WIFIAP

Strengths: This is a very satble motherboard. The Bios makes overclock very easy.

Weakness: SATA connectors are too close to an installed video card

I would like to recommend this board to someone who is looking for a prefect MB. I have ever assembled over 20 desktop computers and used several different brands MB. Asus is the only one I highly recommended. Not only the quality, but also the performance is still very great. Although the price has a little bit higher than others, I think it is worth the price.

9-way Intel P35 motherboard round-up

Anyone looking at building a new desktop system should not look any further than Intel Core 2 processors, and when time comes to pick a platform you should have Intel's own P35 chipset in mind as it officially offers 1333MHz FSB support and will be compatible with upcoming 45nm processors. This translates in a fairly 'future-proof' platform, with some models currently available supporting DDR3...
