Amazing temp drop

Strengths: Awesome cooling power, operates at a reasonable volume, pushes a good amount of air--benefiting overall case/component temps.

Weakness: Instruction/documentation is weak. I accidentally put on the wrong screws (in my haste to get my card back up and running) since they include different hardware for different cards.

I have discovered two things since installing the DuOrb: 1. this cooler is a very good aftermarket cooling option for the 8800gt 2. The stock heatsink and fan included with most 8800gt cards, mine included, are terrible. My idle temps dropped from 48-49C to a stable 32C! Playing an hour of Team Fortress 2 with graphics maxed never brought the card over 38C, the stock cooler was running anywhere...

Thermaltake CL-G)102

Strengths: None

Weakness: Instructions are lousy.

My stock cooler on my Nvidia EVGA 8800 GTS 512 mgs. goes a better job running at 45c no load and 48 to 52 loaded. I installed this cooler on my card and my idle temp went up to 55 no load and 60 to 70 after playing an hour on BF2. these temps where checked using Nvidia's Ntune program

ThermalTake CL-G0102 DuOrb VGA Cooler

Strengths: This was an easy retrofit for my ATI RADEON HD4850, temp dropped by over 10 degrees compared with OEM fan. Wish the designers at ATI did a more thorough job of thermal analysis.

Weakness: None so far but check the space requirement if you intend to use another card in an adjacent slot. This could be a problem.

Not cheap but if you need the cooling this will do the job. When will these companies learn to do a better job of worse case thermal analysis so we can use their products without any extra precautions

Thermaltake DuOrb CPU Cooler Review

The Thermaltake DuOrb CPU cooler is by far one of the most interesting looking CPU coolers on the market today. With a true Dual-Flow design it uses the system air flow to cool down surrounding temperatures and helps dissipate the heat of CPU, RAM, VRM, North Bridge, and the back of VGA card. The Thermaltake DuOrb CPU cooler gets testing on an Intel Core 2 Quad today, so read on to see if this...
