Altec Lansing 221W Amplified Speaker SystemStrengths: Compared to the stock computer speakers I had, I'm almost giddy!!! For under 50 bucks, this is the best investment I have made for upgrading my computer. WOW! Weakness: Alittle distortion at high volume. No Volume control on Sub Woofer. When you are sitting in front of the computer, who needs to crank it up that high anyways Figure a set of 2 cheap speakers goes for about $25 bucks at most retail stores. We all know what they sound like.... tinny and weak. This is kick butt quality sound at an affordable price. Internet Radio now plays non-stop while I'm on line. Go for it and enjoy!!!

Altec Lansing 221W Amplified Speaker SystemStrengths: Great sound for the price and look great too + headphone jack!! Weakness: No subwoofer volume control, (probably not an issue if you have a better sound driver) I had Altec Lansing's before this and always though they sounded great. These are no less amazing and have the added headphone jack. Will be a big fan as long as they keep putting out products like this. James Advertisement

Altec Lansing 221W Amplified Speaker System
Strengths: Low price for a decent set of speakers
Weakness: No volume control on the subwoofer
I bought these when they were on clearance in a local office supplies store. The sound quality is pretty good for a $30 speak system. The mids and highs are very decent, and no distortion can be heard when the vol is within limits. The bass is a little weak, but still in the ok range. And for only 30 bucks, I'm happy.
