Planon RC800 Pen Scanner on 27 February 2008

Strengths: Small size

Weakness: Extremely high defect rate.

www.planon.com/docupen... I agree completely with the other reviews. Plus,I had to send my Planon RC800 Pen Scanner back 3 times because one or more of the LEDs was not working. After about two years later I still have a defective $400 piece of junk that I can do nothing with! What are the odds of getting 3 defective Planon RC800 Pen Scanners? Stay away from Planon! Unless you have the patience...

all show and no go

Strengths: small, light fits in pocket

Weakness: customer service, software bundling, speed

This letter is a summary of my experience with PlanOn for the past 6 months. It all began innocent enough, I saw an article about the Docupen, and saw immediate possibilities for potential use. Over the summer of 2006 I was going to order the DocuPen 800 Pro, for I was going to have great use in my teaching environment with Worcester State College as well as Becker College, both located in...

Docupen Scanner

Strengths: Scanning anything everywhere!

Weakness: Well the memory! You have to get additional memory card for you personal needs!

Its new technology, nobody know what kind of device is that, which is the power of it!When is in my pocket i can scan everything useing surface of glass, wood, paper. To scan correctly you have to build your own skills to do it, cuz the scan is always manual, using your hand!I need to know with what speed, fit and reability to use it! Exept that fact the device is excellent in his sort, but i...

great product - great results

Strengths: color scanning anywhere , true portability, compact

Weakness: not a mass storage device

Whoever at Planon was responsible for calling the DocuPen RC800 ($299.99 direct) a pen scanner did the product a tremendous disservice. The DocuPen looks less like a pen than a baton—or, better yet, a magic wand—and it doesn't work like a traditional pen scanner either. Take it from me, that's a good thing. I find most pen scanners annoying to use. This one you just pass across the page and...

very cool tool

Strengths: Light weight, portable, scans 100 pages, great for out of the office scanning

Weakness: Would be great is color feature is available.

I am in the real estate industry and I use the DocuPen to scan lots of my documents on the go, property taxes, and various other forms of documentations. I never have to run back and forth to find a photocopier anymore, and the cost for photocopier is an arm and leg in my area
