Intel Pentium 4 - 3.06 GHz Processor

I'm much like another person that...

Strengths: Stability! Power! NO CRASHES PERIOD! Even fully stressed to 100% CPU for very long periods of time.

Weakness: Only the PRICES! Needs to come down!

I'm much like another person that wrote a review on this processor. You get what you pay for, but let's lower the price to a resonable level. I have 4 PC's + a PIII notebook all networked in my home. Ranging from this Intel PIII, AMD Athlon XP 2000+, AMD XP 2600+, Intel P4 2.4ghz, and the P4 3.06ghz for all out power the Intel's got it, plus the great stability. The AMD's on the other hand run strong too, much lower price, great for the overclocker's and make great gaming machines. The AMD processors just lack the stability & reliability though for intense graphics and extensive multimedia processes. You "may" get a crash. GO INTEL!

I have never had to do anything...

Strengths: Verry Good

Weakness: Not at all, when matched up with the right memory, and video card

I have never had to do anything but run it, no overclocking, no speical memory, just what is supposed to work with it. Its a smooth running PC, and I would recomend it to anyone that needs a good all roung PC.

I have had a bad experience with AMD's XP Athalons. I am a musician who gigs live with a computer. When it comes to proforming live, theres nothing worse than a computer crashing during an event. The AMD processors have caused me great turmoil due to unstability. They also lagged in simple processing. It takes 2-3 seconds for the start menu button to pop up... Unacceptable! Upgraded to a same class ASUS motherboard and this Intel chip. Stability atlast! not a crash yet and i stressed it to 100% cpu power for over 12 hours! no crash or restart!

You get what you pay for. Intel. when stability matters...

Weakness: Price, but now at $400, still good .

I have 6 PCS in my house and linked in a home Networking,

2 Computers with AMD Athlon Xp 1800+
And 1 Pentium 3, 2 Intel Celeron and 1 Pentium 4, i compared their power I noticed that: - AMD Athlon Xp is Designed for game with the 3D noW
However, the Pentium 4 is Designed for other taskes than games but it still good when you play games.

Because, people used to say AMD is faster than the P4
Because the price is way high different, those people are quite wrong due to the reason that a frequency at 3.06 Ghz with 533 Mhz FSB and a 512 Kb L2, that's an enormous difference compared to AMD.

So the best way is to build a Processor capable to contain both technology AMD & Pentium inside on Processor....
A dream that everybody would have to think at!

The Intel cpu is as sold as a rock i do admit, and media encoding is great, But if you are looking to up grade in the next year to the next genration of Window XP 64 Bit Operating System, that can use the new 64 bit software, then consider the 64 bit athlon cpu. i have had no problems with the 64 bit athlon with any form of crashes, also you have to look at something called cost effective, the athlon 64 bit mite be just a few dollars more, but in the long run it will be cheaper because you have to only buy one cpu. that will be cheaper than have to buy two cpu. The Intel cpu it is a very good product but it is a 32 bit cpu for 32 bit operating systems, for just a little more money you would have a cpu for the next generation of 64 bit operating system plus games do run faster on the AMD cpu's. just a thought
