IF you're thinking about buying a...

Strengths: Quiet operation, incredibly fast, excellent manufacturers warantee.

Weakness: Slightly more expensive per GB compared to Maxtor/Western Digital drives.

IF you're thinking about buying a serial ata hard drive, I would highly recommend buying a seagate drive. I used to be a huge fan of western digital drives, but since using 2 80 GB Seagate drives, I have not gone back. The reason seagate provides a long warantee on their products is because they will last much longer than the guarantee that they give. They make extremely high quality products and...

After my experience with this...

Strengths: VERY quiet; speedy and uses SATA interface.

Weakness: May not have a high enough capacity for some users. A 120GB drive isn't as big as it used to be.

After my experience with this drive, I’ve equipped out other two computers with Seagate drives. They’re fast, deathly silent, and blow away the clunky Western Digital drives I’ve used previously. After switching out my WD drive, I didn’t think this one was working; no hard drive grunts at startup. The 8mb cache and 7200 RPM speed make a noticeable difference. The only reason not to get...

Strengths: Speed, Price, Low Noise Level, Reliable

Weakness: Haven't found any so far...

This is the second of these drives that I have bought, I was so pleased with the first that I actively sought out an identical drive. I've been very happy with it so far.

Strengths: I've had a Seagate drive before, loved the speed. Upgraded to the 120, love this one more, very fast easy to install.

I had a seagate 40 gig hard drive. Upgraded to the 120, very fast. The drive was very easy to install. I'd tell anyone looking to buy to get his bericuda drive it's awesome.

This is the second one of these I...

Strengths: Quiet, low temperature, and fast - "Seagate Quality"

Weakness: It is a little on the pricey end of the spectrum and slow to come down, but in this case you definitely get what you pay for.

This is the second one of these I have bought. I set up a RAID 0 configuration, and easily wrote uncompressed video (DV-NTSC) and audio with only 256MB of ram (no buffer needed). I am running a liquid cooled system with hardly any dB noise, and I cannot hear even a whisper click from the drives. I have another SATA drive from WDC, and there is no comparison. Seagate wins hands down, as always.
