Still working great

Strengths: Super precise, fit and feel are great, DPI change on the fly, looks dang cool.

Weakness: Kinda pricey, but once you use it it you realize it was worth it.

I have had this mouse for over a year, and it still works fantastic. Every time I have to use someone elses mouse I hate it. This mouse is that good. From tracking to changing the resolution on the fly everything just fits right. I have big hands so all the buttons are in just the right place. Try one, you will like it you will. Matched with a Corepad eyepad and a Nostromo N-52 I couldn't be a...

Great Mouse

Strengths: Fast, smooth, responsive, adjustable dpi, ergonomic, looks cool.

Weakness: Logitech just announced new G5 Laser Mouse(corded laser mouse for gaming)

I originally wanted a laser mouse, but the cordless MX1000 is not great for gaming. When the MX518 finally came out, I eagerly got one even though it still used optics. It's been great for general computer usage and fps gaming(although I still suck). I would probably wait on picking up this mouse, because when the G5 comes out the price on the MX518 should drop.

This mouse rocks!!!

Strengths: Excellent sensitivity. Easy to program buttons. Works on both USB and PS/2 ports.

Weakness: None so far.

This mouse is sweet. It glides so effortlessly across my mouse pad. Fits in my hand well. It looks cool too. If you are a hardcore FPS gamer, this is the mouse to get. I was doing some serious fraggin' in Battlefield 2 with this mouse. It is very precise, plus you can instantly change the sensitivity on the fly.

Logitech MX 518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse

Strengths: Cool features. Nice new design. New options to change sensitivity. 1600 dpi. Great drivers with great software.

Weakness: None.

Great mouse. You can notice the difference if you're a gamer and need high DPI. The sensitivity adjustment features are easy to use with the touch of a button. Corded mouse so you don't have to worry about it lagging.

Logitech MX 518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse

Strengths: 1600 dpi, fast response, moves smoothly, good design

Weakness: built for right hand only

This mouse is essentially a beefed up MX510. Its main features are its 1600 dpi and new software. You can switch resolutions on the fly with buttons above and below the wheel, with or without the software. The defaults (400, 800, 1600) were good enough for me, but if you like to specify your own settings, it's simple enough with the program. All buttons are customizable.

The Best Gaming & General Use Mouse Out There!

Strengths: By far the best Ergonomics Great button placement Rubber sides give you a firm grip on the mouse Thumb indentation is awesome Sensitivity adjustments give you precision control 1600dpi is very accurate

Weakness: + senstivity button is hard to reach

I just bought this mouse to replace my 2-month old MX610 Wireless Laser mouse. Even thought the MX518 is older, it is much more precise and much more enjoyable to use. Wireless mice have a slight delay, and I did not notice any improvement with the laser technology. Also ergonomics, build quality, materials, and overall feel is not as good as the MX518. This is my 3rd mouse within 3 months, and...

Logitech MX 518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse

Strengths: Very good response in terms of G force movements - the mouse is extremely like the mx510 which rocks since thats currently my favorite mouse of all time above the boomslang and intelliexplorer

Weakness: I feel like i just spent $40 for a mouse lol not a good feeling - value is there, but the price...ouch!

Great mouse, great response, still learning the sensitivity on the fly thing but ive 'lucked' out many times with it in counterstrike 1.6 so alls good so far! good buy, but just remember, this is a COMPUTER MOUSE YOU'RE BUYING...no matter how many times i buy $40-$50 mice, the shock is still there~

Logitech MX 518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse

Strengths: adjustable sensitivity, very comfortable, awesome paintjob

Weakness: can't think of any

If you are a gamer this is the mouse to buy. With it you can go from a heated firefight to sniping some poor sucka with just a push of a button with no detriment to either. While re-playing Call of Duty I was able to put cross-hairs dead on guy's forehead, with Microsoft's "creation" I couldn't pull it off. Although the highest resolution, 1600 dpi, seems like a bit too much but I guess after a...

Logitech MX 518 Gaming-Grade Optical Mouse

Strengths: Amazingly smooth mouse, good feel, 1600 DPI, and ultra light

Weakness: doesn't last long... about 5-6 months. I've had 3 in the last year and a half or so.

This mouse is deffinatly worth buying, it is sensative and is a very percise mouse for games like counter-strike or DOD. It has great handle as well. But it is expensive and doesn't last very long so if you have the money for it, it's well worth it.

Mouse round-up: Logitech MX518 Gaming Mouse tested

Most people assumed that it would be hard for Logitech to release a product that was actually better than the MX510 but they obviously didn’t sit duck. After spending hours using the MX518, it is clear that Logitech has succeeded in officially topping the MX510.

Are You A Gamer? Is This Your Next Mouse?

If you are serious about what you play with, you should definitely check out the MX518. I have found it to perform exceptionally in everything from Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - where I would change DPI settings when I switched from sniping to hosing - to my recent time playing Dungeon Siege II.
