So far So good with this little guy...Strengths: -zoom zoom zoom -super-pro looking Leica lens lets light in -lens adapter is great- covers mechanical lens underneath for weather resistance -great flash -simple, user friendly and looks professional Weakness: -small lcd, but saves battery life -movie mode, no sound, low res -flash doesnt automatically open when needed, must open it yourself This camera has been impressive so far, though I've only owned it for a couple days. Initial impressions are good, the zoom works very well and the stabilizer allows the camera to have very sharp images. There is no manual focusing though, so you'll have to really know the preset focus settings to get what you want to show in the picture. Some extra pro's for the camera: -Leica lens is larger...

Good Camera with mega stablizationStrengths: I impressed by its Mega stabilization and 12X Zoom. Weakness: Big in size , facing uncomfortable to carry. Overall performance is very good , compare to other camera (NIKON S4). Mega stabilization really working very good. Only problem what i am facing, size of this camera. its too big and feel uncomfortable to carry. So if any one want to purchase it , can try to PANASONIC LZ2.

best I could find in 12x zoom catagory.Strengths: leica lens-12x zoom with image stabilization-full array of features(more than i will ever use)-great camera for price-long battery life. Weakness: no manual focus-takes a dedicated battery, will need to buy a backup-no hot shoe(built in flash ok, nothing spectacular. the more i became adjusted to digital, i realized i would eventually stop using my film slr. in order to do that i needed a digital with most of the features of my slr; and also a 300-400mm lens. i wasn't about to spend $800-1000 for a digital slr, so i researched the 5 or 6 digitals in this class and price range. all the cameras got fine reviews but the lumix fz models always seemed to be the...

Zoom Zoom Zoom all the Way !!!Strengths: -Impressive 12X ZOOM - what more do you want? -Image Stabilization -Near portable body design Weakness: -Manual FLASH -Cannot Carry in the POCKET - this is not a pocket Camera -LCD Should have been bigger -Battery (Cannot use AA Batteries) Optical ZOOM is all I wanted when I was looking for my replacement camera. I had 6x Zoom in my earlier Fuji Digital Camera and I would not have settled for anything less. Very Nice looking Camera w/ Image Stabilization Option attracted me to go for this one - and I am happy with my decision.

Lumix DMC-FZ4S Seems a pretty good choice.
Strengths: Extra-long zoom lens; lightweight; viewfinder and LCD; some manual operations; stabilization
Weakness: Shutter lag; proprietary battery.
For the price, this camera seems a good choice. The zoom lens is far more versatile than most similarly-priced cameras. You can choose between the viewfinder and rear LCD for composing photos - some people prefer one, while others prefer the other. It is possible to take over some manual control of your photography, such as specifying shutter speeds or aperture. And there are numerous automatic...
