P5Q ProStrengths: 2 x PCI Express 2.0 x16 slots, solid caps, overclock options in bios, 8 phase power Weakness: crossfire is 8x with dual cards, nb runs hot This motherboard has a lot of features for the price. It is a very good performing board in the p45 category. There are a lot of overclocking options in recent bios. Q connectors are a great idea. The ICH10R provides raid capability with six SATA II ports, AHCI, and Matrix RAID technology.

Good for 45nm cpus but not friendly to older 65nm...Strengths: crossfire, 8 sata, heat pipe cooler for chipsets, 8 phase power Weakness: very poor overclockabiility for my old E6300 which I can get it done easily on my Gigabyte GA-965P-S3 which only has 3 phase power. Going to return it and looking at Biostar i45 and TP45HP and Gigabyte GA-P45-Extreme, all three of them can easily break 600MHz FSB barrier while P5Q Pro needs over 1.4V to reach 400FSB on my E6300 which only needs stock voltage on my 965P-S3.

My favorite motherboard so far!Strengths: Excellent price, tons of overclocking features in bios, supports raid, 6 sata ports, supports crossfire Weakness: floppy port is placed in an awful location This is my favorite motherboard thus far. It had absolutely no problems and I'm now running an Intel E8400 overclocked to 3.3 GHz. It has all voltage/timing settings in the bios to tweak as much as you desire. Be sure to search for the "P5Q Pro modded bios" to upgrade your board with even more additional features.

ASUS P5Q PROStrengths: P45 with ICH10R; RAID; lots of overclock tweaking options; some ASUS specific BIOS software like Easy Gate. Weakness: None so far I bought this board from Newegg as part of a combo deal, that made a 500GB Seagate SATA II OEM drive only $40.00 dollars more than the cost of the board alone.

Good board from a quality name brand
Strengths: cross-fire support lots of over-clocking options in bios
Weakness: No e-sata port, but comes with a sata-to-esata
I'm using it with an e8400. Haven't oc'd the processor yet, but probably will in the future. Being my first built computer, the set up was easy enough. Everything boots up and seems stable.
