An incredible CPU for silent pc lovers

Strengths: Highly overclockable, cool & quite technology

Weakness: None

This is an incredible CPU. I also had the older version (non-Venice) version. This runs cooler and faster than that. With cool and quite technology (I use CrystalCPUID for this), I'm running this processor at 2250Mhz (9x250) with only 1.2V. (It is prime95 stable for at least 6 hours). When idle, it runs at 1000Mhz (4x250) at 1.1V (I'm sure it runs at that speed with a lower voltage but my...

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor

Strengths: OC ability. Really great for games.

Weakness: None.

One of the best processors for a budget gaming rig. It runs cool and fast. I haven't had any trouble with the stock hsf. Its not quiet but it does its job. I overclocked mine to 2.2 ghz and benchmark close to 3500+. Alot of money saved.

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Venice Core

Strengths: 64 bit processor, socket 939, great value, outperforms price comparable Pentiums, runs quiet and cool with included heat sink and fan

Weakness: None

I purchased this processor as an upgrade from an AMD Athlon 2500+ (Bartron Core). The included heat sink and fan work wonderfully and are very quiet, temperature is always low, even under heavy load (graphic design, encoding and gaming). Combined with my DFI LanParty Ultra-D and an ATI Radeon X800XL + 1 GB PC3200 DDR Ram I am able to run Far Cry, Counter-Strike Source and Battlefield 2 at a...

AMD Athlon 64 3000+

Strengths: Good speed for the price.

Weakness: Not as fast as top of the line models.

This is a good processor if you can't afford to buy top of the line models. Don't let the 1.8GHz fool you. This thing way outperforms any pentium I've had. I have a pentium 4 3.0 GHz processor and this amd does just as good if not better than that.

Athlon 64 3000+ Processor (1.8GHz, 512KB, 2000MHz,...

Strengths: Nice price for a socket 939 processor, excellent performance

Weakness: none

This is a quality processor for games. I bought this because I wanted a 939 processor and for the venice core. Overclocking is doable, but it is not as easy as some of the older athlon models. For its price, the processor delivers nice value and performance. I'd buy it again.

Athlon 64 3000 Retail

Strengths: Works great. Fast and stable.

Weakness: These processors are little expensive for AMD. In my opinion, the Athlon XP was a better value in its day.

This processor runs fairly quick and very stable. The AMD heat sink/fan runs very quiet; the processor runs at about 35 degrees C (from BIOS). The operating temperature is lower than my XP Barton, but the heatsink is much bigger also, so it could still be producing more heat. If you are planning on getting this processor to run 64 bit Windows, I'd hold off for at least a few months. The hardware...

AMD Athlon 64 3000+ Processor

Strengths: Socket 939; 64-bit power; blazing speed

Weakness: Not the best choice for overclockers

I researched several different CPU's, both Intel and AMD, and for the price, this one came out on top. All the Athlon 64 processors trounce Intel in most benchmarks so it was really more of a question of which AMD chip to get. This is the cheapest of the socket 939 models but still provides plently of power and can be found for under $150. The next step up is the 3200+ model and it will cost...

Great Price/Performance Ratio

Strengths: high overclockability great price 64 bit

Weakness: none!

This cpu is perfect for anyone that can't afford the more expensive athlon64s and want to overclock. I was able to get 2.5ghz easily on stock air cooling! If you do decide to get this and want to overclock. Make sure to get an msi or dfi motherboard to go with it. They overclock the best!

Fantastic chip

Strengths: More than enough power for current generation games

Weakness: None to note

I thought that because this wasn't the most top of the line chip available from AMD, I'd be hurting for performance in the latest games... I was wrong. HL2, Doom3, F.E.A.R., Battlefield 2, all of it runs with maxed out settings, and all of it runs with high FPS. A fantastic buy for the price.

smooth running

Strengths: price, quality and performance.

Weakness: none

what more can you say. i built this to run a studio and it works flawless with the asus a8n-sli deluxe and 2 gig's of memory. we are in the preliminary stages of the machine but at this point we can saw, cubebase and pro tools without a glitch. once the software catches up to the 64bit processor this machine will be unbelievable.
