A top notch drive.Strengths: Very fast, quiet, low heat. Weakness: none Purchased this drive and have to say it\\\\\\\'s one of the best i\\\\\\\'ve used. My old Seagate drive is quite noisy but this drive is virtually silent. Comparing to my old drive, runs faster too. Great drive and highly recommended.

silent and fastStrengths: very quiet drive, only clue the drive is running is thru the HD LED, Vista rating is now at 5.9 Weakness: none I have only been using this drive for a few days and I am very satisfied with the performance. Will have to see if it will last as long as my other seagate drive

Four out of five have had uncorrectable errors in...Strengths: Seagate honors its warranty, but you'll use it a lot on these drives. Weakness: Develop uncorrectable read errors in very short time frame. I bought two of these in May of 2008 to use in a RAID mirror. Both developed uncorrectable read errors within the first few weeks of use and I sent both in for warranty replacement. Within a year, one of the refurbished replacements developed the same problem, so I sent it in for warranty replacement. Within 8 hours of using that refurbished replacement, it too developed the same problem, so now...

Seagate Hard Drive Fiasco Grows, according to...
Strengths: Cheap -- these were selling for $55 in December, 2008 With just two platters, I expected these drive would be robust.
Weakness: Those manufactured before December, 2008, would unexpectedly lock due to firmware problems. I bought six of these drives between February, 2008, and November, 2008 -- two of them failed.
The problems I had with these 500GB 7200.11 Seagate disk drives was affirmed for other 7200.11 Seagate disk drives in Slashdot.org, hardware.slashdot.org/... . One of my Seagate ST3500320AS worked for only 1 month, then it gave NO response -- as others have said, it became a brick whose data could not be extracted, even though the data on the platters supposedly remains perfect. I wouldn't buy...
