Product Details of Linksys Wireless-B WVC11B Internet Video Camera

Description

The Linksys Wireless-B Internet Video Camera sends live video through the Internet to a web browser anywhere in the world! This compact, self-contained unit lets you keep an eye on your home, your kids, your workplace -- whatever's important to you. Unlike standard "web cams" that require an attached PC, the Internet Video Camera contains its own web server, so it can connect directly to a network, either over Wireless-B (802.11b) networking, or over 10/100 Ethernet cable. The advanced MPEG-4 video compression produces a high-quality, high-framerate, 320x240 video stream.

Linksys Wireless-B WVC11B Internet Video Camera

Strengths: Easy to set up. Very straight forward design. Nice looking package that is appealing to the eye.

Weakness: Needs a wider range of brightness adjustment in both directions.

The camera is worth the money. Very nice, clear video in the highest resolution. The sololink service option is a little challenging to set up but nice to use. I would like to see a motorized base option.

Linksys Wireless-B WVC11B Internet Video Camera

Strengths: Easy to set up and move.

Weakness: Extremely poor quality in bright sunlight.

I purchased to use as a webcam for a business in Hawaii, but can only use indoors due to the light issue. Trying to find a filter but to no avail. Any type of adjustment would help.

Linksys Wireless-B WVC11B Internet Video Camera

Strengths: Good design, inexpensive, easy set up

Weakness: camera must be manually set; viewer requries a special application; doesn't do well in low lux environments

The application requires two windows on your screen. One the selection page the other the viewer. It would be nice if you could close the selection screen, but you can't. Go ahead and set it up with a cross over cable first, it will save a great deal of time.

This Camera Sucks

Strengths: Looks good

Weakness: Hard to install, poor picture quality, needs lots of light, heavy pixelization when hot.

Hard to install, poor picture quality, needs lots of light, heavy pixelization when hot. I'm returning mine to buy.com and purchasing a better camera. You get what you pay for.

Cheapo

Strengths: Nothing

Weakness: everything

Cheapo plastic, did not work AT ALL for me. I sent it back. Rip off, with a capital R. I hooked it up every which way - no picture. Wired or wireless. Nada. Dont waste your money
